Macadamia Nut Bliss Balls | No-Bake Energy Treats

These macadamia nut bliss balls are perfect for those seeking a healthy snack on the go. They’re packed with protein, healthy fats, and natural sweetness from dried fruits, making them a satisfying and nutritious pick-me-up. The best part is they’re incredibly easy to make, requiring no baking!

These bliss balls can be customised to your liking. Experiment with different nut butter bases, fruits, and coatings.

Macadamia Nut Bliss Balls Tips

  • Consider using dried apricots instead of dried cranberries for a chewy texture. The apricots add a subtle sweetness that perfectly complements the creamy macadamia nuts.
  • If the mixture is too dry, add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to help bind the ingredients together. This will also add a touch of sweetness to the balls.
  • Drizzle melted dark chocolate over the finished balls before refrigerating them for an extra chocolatey flavour. This will add a delicious richness, making them even more irresistible.
  • To ensure your bliss balls stay fresh for as long as possible, store them in an airtight container in the fridge. They’ll last for up to two weeks if stored correctly.
  • If the mixture is too sticky when rolling, lightly dampen your hands or coat them with a thin layer of coconut oil. This makes the rolling process smoother and prevents the mixture from sticking to your hands.
  • Blend in a scoop of your favourite protein powder for a nutritional boost. Not only will this increase the protein content, making it a great post-workout snack, but it can also help bind the mixture together if you find it too crumbly.

Ingredients

250 grams of chopped raw macadamia nuts
200 grams chopped coarse dried apricots (or a mix of dried mango and sultanas)
125 grams of desiccated coconut
125 grams rolled oats
60 grams almond butter, smooth or crunchy (you can substitute with peanut butter or cashew butter)
2 tablespoons runny honey or maple syrup
5 ml ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Pulse the macadamia nuts in a food processor until they resemble coarse crumbs, taking care not to over-process.
  2. Add the chopped dried apricots (or your chosen dried fruit mix), desiccated coconut, rolled oats, almond butter, honey (or maple syrup), cinnamon, and salt to the food processor. Process until the mixture comes together and forms a sticky dough.
  3. Scoop the mixture using a tablespoon and roll it into balls between your palms.
  4. Place the balls in a shallow dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until firm.
  5. Enjoy your homemade macadamia nut bliss balls!
