Becoming a step-parent isn’t always easy, but William Ledbetter seems to have gotten off on the right foot.

When you marry a mother, you marry her kids too.

William seems to not only understand that philosophy, but he embraces it.

In William’s case, he didn’t have just one woman to impress, but two.

Luckily, William appears to have cottoned onto the fact that this means twice the presents, twice the cuddles and twice the wedding proposals.

This sweet step-dad-to-be decided it was only right that he propose to his future step-daughter too. After getting that all important ‘yes’ from his girlfriend of two years, Paige Evans, William got down on one knee again to pop the question to Paige’s adorable five year old daughter, Maddie.

A Forever Daughter

As Maddie ran around the kitchen after finding out her mama was getting married, William presented Maddie with her very own engagement ring. “You want to be my daughter forever too?” he asks, whilst kneeling in front of Maddie at the family’s home in Georgia.

Maddie can’t contain her excitement and immediately breaks out into a grin. The adorable five year old then nods and tries the ring on, excitedly exclaiming, “It fits!” Then she giggles and gives William a heart-warming cuddle and a kiss. Witnessing that beautiful cuddle is bound to have made the day extra special for newly engaged Paige who filmed the events on her phone.

Sometimes kids can get a little left out when their parents are the centre of attention, but William knew how to avoid that potential crisis. Lucky little Maddie didn’t have a chance to feel left out, because she now has a special engagement ring all of her own. She was also given a new necklace and earrings to match.

William told the Huffington Post, “I included Maddie because anytime I give her mom presents, she always right there wanting to open them for her and talking about how much she loves whatever I got her mom.”

Maddie seems more than a little excited for William to be officially joining the family. Plus, the double proposal is a pretty sweet story for her to tell at the wedding.

As proposals go, they don’t get much sweeter than this. The emotional video has had over 60,000 views on YouTube since it was posted earlier this month.
